About Molloy College

Molloy College is a four-years, private, Catholic college located in Rockville Centre, New York, a Nassau County community on Long Island, in the United States, founded in 1955 by the Dominican Sisters of Amityville, with an initial enrollment of 44 students. Since it first opened its doors to students, it has continuously grown, Molloy currently having an enrollment estimated at a number of nearly 3,037 students.

The college offers a wide range of educational programs for its students, in areas such as Business, Education, Criminal Justice, the Allied Health Sciences and Computer Information Systems.

In 2006, Molloy College has been ranked in the top tier of Best Universities-Masters: North by U.S.News and World Report.

Molloy College's athletic teams are called the Lions, which compete in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) and the East Coast Conference (ECC), formerly known as the New York College Athletic Conference (NYCAC). The women's basketball team, one of the institution's notable athletic team, has contributed to the college's athletic fame, by winning the 2010 ECC Championship.
